Having trouble justifying $200 on a sub-one pound sleeping bag? Join us to learn how to make your own for less than $75 and a couple of hours worth of work! We'll be getting down the basics of homemade outdoor equipment: from stoves to sleeping bags to rain gear, making your own equipment is the best way to customize weight, costs, and use to fit exactly what you need.

During the workshop you will learn how to make (and walk home with) an efficient alcohol stove, summer rain gear, and a stuff sac; while as a group making an ultralight sleeping bag and summit pack that we'll put in the end-of-conference auction.
Materials will be provided, including all fabrics and sewing machines. Learn how to build your next gear project- whether it be a tent, backpack, or bivy sack, and get ready to get on the trail, rock, river, or ocean with your own homemade gear next season.
